Today is October 14, 2013 and to my surprise my deck garden is still growing and producing fruit and vegetables.  I had cut down my large tomato plants and now they have started to grow again; I am still harvesting grape and cherry tomatoes from my other plants.  I noticed today that my green pepper plant, which I thought was dead has a few small green peppers growing.  I am still eating strawberries and there are still strawberries that need to ripen.  I have green onions growing and as you can see my petunias are now black petunias which is the color that I originally bought but this summer were red!  Go figure!

I am pleased as punch that my deck garden is still producing and still flowering!  I cannot believe that it is growing so well this time of year when I thought it was finished for the season.  It just goes to show you that you should never give up on your garden too soon at the end of summer.
